NINE SMALL THINGS YOU DO THAT PEOPLE USE TO JUDGE YOUR PERSONALITY
From the moment two people meet, they’re sizing each other up, looking for signs of qualities like honesty, intelligence, and altruism.
Whether it’s a date or a job interview, the small stuff matters — from the firmness of your handshake to how often you check your phone.
We checked out the Quora thread “What are the really small things that tell a lot about a person’s psychology and personality?” and the latest scientific research, and highlighted some of the most common behaviors people use to judge you.
1.Your handshake.
Several Quora users admitted that they judge people based on their handshake.
“Strong handshakes usually reflect a strong and confident character, whereas weak handshakes usually indicate a lack of confidence and are almost always a characteristic of people who would look for an easy way to do things,” writes Julian Parge.
Research backs up the idea that your handshake can reveal certain aspects of your personality. One study found that people with firm handshakes were more likely to be extroverted and emotionally expressive and less likely to be shy and neurotic.
2. Your punctuality.
Late for a very important date? The person who’s waiting may be forming a negative impression of your personality.
“A proactive person will be there on time, because he is self-motivated, mentally organized, and values time whereas a procrastinator will be running here and there at the last hour,” says Humaira Siddiqui.
According to science, those who are chronically late aren’t necessarily inconsiderate people — but they’re probably more laid-back, “Type B” individuals.
3. Your handwriting.
Whether you’re writing a to-do list or a love note, your handwriting can say a lot about you.
Ramesh Nagaraj believes that “people who put a lot of pressure on pen and paper to write something are usually stubborn in attitude. They have a lot of confidence.”
Meanwhile, professional graphologist Kathi McKnight says that large letters indicate that you’re people-oriented, while small letters suggest you’re introverted. Letters that slant to the right can mean you’re friendly and sentimental, those that don’t slant at all might mean you’re pragmatic, and letters that slant to the left suggest you’re introspective.
4.Your favorite color.
Shivani Jha has a theory on what your color of choice reveals about your personality. For example, if your favorite color is red, she assumes you desire physical fulfillment. If your favorite color is yellow, she thinks you need logical order and value individuality.
Industrial psychologist Bernardo Tirado breaks it down slightly differently. Writing in Psychology Today, Tirado says that red lovers are tenacious and determined, while yellow lovers enjoy learning and find happiness easily.
5.Your taste in music.
Citing a 2003 study on the topic, Quora user Humaira Siddiqui says that she judges people based on the type of music they listen to.
The study found that people who listen to “reflective and complex” music tend to be open to new experiences and politically liberal. Those who listen to “upbeat and conventional” jams are more likely to be extroverted and athletic.
6.Your eye contact.
Munje says that a limp handshake and a lack of steady eye contact “shows lack of self-control, required drive to follow through, and a weak will.”
Alternatively, psychologist Adrian Furnham, PhD, writes in Psychology Today that extroverts tend to look more often and for longer at their conversation partners than introverts do. And in general, people who look at their partners more often are more confident and socially dominant.
7. Your choice of pet.
People may make inferences about you based on your pet. For instance, Joe Waldron believes that people who do not like cats have control issues, and he warns against dating women who have big dogs, believing that they are not interested in long-term relationships.
Meanwhile, one study found that people who prefer dogs are generally more energetic and outgoing, while those who prefer cats tend to be more introverted and sensitive. The same study also found that cat people tend to be more intelligent.
8. How you ask a question.
Even if someone doesn’t say anything about themselves in conversation, you can still learn about their personality.
As Khaliana Schmitz says: “When meeting someone for the first time … see how long it takes for them to ask you a question in return. You’d be surprised how much this reveals in terms of a person being a ‘giver’ or a ‘taker.’ It will help you distinguish between ‘people who like you’ and ‘people who like what you can provide them.'”
9.Whether you bite your nails.
Sushrut Munje has strong views on people with bitten nails, saying that it’s a sign that “the person eats away at himself.”
Meanwhile, research suggests that those who bite their nails — or pull their hair or pick their skin — tend to be perfectionists, unable to fully relax.

SMART PHONES, DUMB USERS
It is almost impossible these days to go to public places and not see a person looking on and tapping away at a smartphone. About a decade ago few of us can think of the number of things that we were able to do with our phones. For about 100 years back, a phone was just a tool used to talk to another person; it couldn’t take pictures, send messages or play games.
There can be little doubt that in the last few years there has been a tech boom, now people can watch movies and surf the internet on a portable tablet, and do things on the move thanks to super-fast mobile internet speeds. The result has seen the mobile phone turned into a mini computer and these new smartphones have become the current tech trend. That’s why I’ve compiled the advantages and disadvantages of the smartphone.
Whether you’re a current owner nodding your head in agreement or a late adopter looking for the inside facts, I hope this article helps you make some sense out of the mobile phone craze. If you already have one, make sure to make a video of your amazed expression as you read this post.
ADVANTAGES
Capabilities
When it comes to capabilities, smartphones like the BlackBerry, Android, iPhone and Windows Phone far transcend their less technologically-advanced counterparts like basic clamshell flip-stylephones.
Basic cellphones allow users to talk, text and use limited features such as a calculator and alarm clock and sometimes browse the Internet on a less-than-optimal browser. Smartphones offer users the ability to check into social media sites, send and receive email, perform transactions on bank accounts, pay bills, read books, instant message friends, watch television and movies, browse the Internet, check the weather or the latest sports scores and more. Developers are constantly adding applications that can be downloaded to smartphones to enable them to do more.
Convenience
Because smartphones offer more capabilities than basic cellphones, they offer a sense of convenience that other phones simply do not offer.
Among the capabilities of smartphones are GPS applications, which provide users with turn-by-turn directions to anywhere from nearly any location. Banking applications allow users to check their account balances and perform transfers, pay bills and, in some cases, deposit checks. Social networking, email and instant-messaging applications allow users to keep in close contact with friends, family and colleagues. Checking the weather, the latest news headlines, movie showtimes, stock standings and even the business hours at a store or restaurant make smartphones ideal for someone who wants those conveniences.
On a basic cellphone, users can complete many of those tasks by calling their bank, stock broker, weather line or movie theater, but these options are limited and can take more time than they would on a smartphone.
Regardless of these advantages and conveniences that the smartphone offers there are no doubts that the smartphone comes with a number of disadvantages.
DISADVANTAGES
Cost
Arguably the biggest disadvantage of a smartphone is its cost compared to standard mobile phones. A smartphone costs considerably more up front — on the order of a few hundred Ghana Cedis to Thousands of Ghana Cedis, versus less than about a third of that cost for a standard phone. Smartphones also require expensive data plans, which most standard phones do not, making your monthly bill significantly more expensive.
Surprisingly most people shirk basic responsibilities to acquire smartphones at exorbitant prices and use not more than two functions in it. Most users acquire smart phones on the simple reason that they are flashy and it’s the way to go now.
Security
Smartphones are able to access the Internet, either through Wi-Fi or a data package. But data security is an issue. The apps you download and the passwords that you input into these apps and websites while on-the-go are often not secure, at least in terms of account privacy. This means that Internet access on an insecure network puts you at risk of identity theft and hacked accounts. That’s why you should completely log out of apps and websites after you’re done with a session. For the sake of convenience, many smartphone owners don’t do so, however, leaving their data vulnerable to hacking.
Distraction
Smartphones are distractors, which potentially decrease worker productivity and keep consumers off-task. With a device that fits into your pocket and is able to accomplish so much, it’s only natural that you’re constantly checking email, sports scores, text messages, Facebook and browsing the Web. This cuts into time spent focused on business projects. Additionally, smartphone users often play on the devices during business meetings and seminars, rather than focus on the presentations.
Occurrence of pretty serious accidents.
That’s not the only way the inattention to their surrounding caused by cell phones creates problems. It can actually cost lives when drivers focused on texting or social media lose control of their vehicle and have major accidents. Is letting your friend know you’re on the way really worth dying over?
And it’s not safe to do it while you’re walking either. For one, people have stepped into oncoming traffic while staring at the screen of their phone. Less seriously, you can fall down stairs, trip over something on the ground, or bump into a wall or another pedestrian while you’re absorbed with what’s happening on Facebook or making a video for Snapchat
Breaches of Privacy and Security
While having all your information in one handy device can be extremely convenient, it also has the potential to be very dangerous. All it takes is forgetting your phone in some bathroom or bus stop and suddenly, your whole life is exposed to the person who finds it. Your contacts, documents, social media accounts, and even banking information is theirs to do with as they please.
The privacy aspect is less damaging than your compromised bank account but probably a little more embarrassing. Are there any photos on your phone that you’d rather not show to some random stranger? How about those sappy text messages with your boy or girlfriend? We thought so. Just leaving your phone on the couch while you use the bathroom can be enough to give a snooper a peak into your private life.
And even if you never let your phone leave your sight, hackers can still break into your information remotely if the motivation is there. Keep that in mind the next time you’re thinking about putting important or otherwise sensitive stuff on your mobile.
Hinder Real Human Interaction
Our phones can do so much these days that some people have trouble tearing themselves away long enough to reconnect with the real world. You’ve likely seen them around town, on public transportation, and in stores with their eyes and fingers glued to their mobile device. Instead of interacting with the people around them, they ignore face-to-face conversation for virtual ones.
Many believe that our younger generation is actually less capable of normal socializing because of this. They’ve gotten so little practice that they’re simply not comfortable with chatting with someone they meet out in public. Since humans are social creatures by nature who need real life connections, this runs the risk of becoming a huge problem for society.
The cons of mobile phones are mostly a case of too much of a good thing. Pull yourself away from your device when you’re out on the town and don’t isolate yourself from the people around you. Don’t even think about touching that thing while you’re driving, walking, riding a bike, or anything else that requires your full attention. Learn also how to secure the contents of your smartphone and you will be able to enjoy all the helpful things smartphones bring to the table without the negatives.

How Waste Is Generated And Treated At Armed Forces Secondary Technical School, KUMASI,GHANA
Classification of Waste:
Farming;- Garbage
Residential;-Garbage and refuse
Sewage;-Human Excreta and other sewerages.
These can be grouped under solid and liquid wastes
The solid waste is in the form of garbage and refuse while the liquid waste is human excreta. The garbage is generated mostly in the Kitchen in the form of spoiled foodstuff and excess food eaten by the Students.
The refuse is generated through the cleaning of the School compound.
Waste Disposal:
The garbage and refuse generated are dumped in a refuse Dump six(6) metres away from the school kitchen. It is a Pit dug about a meter and half deep.
The human excreta is generated in septic tanks in the school.
How we deal with waste:
The platain peel garbage is collected by a local soap manufacturing company and process for the manufacture of a local soap called ‘Alata samina’.Some people also collect the garbage to feed domestic Animals.
The human excreta and other garbages are collected by an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) every two months for the generation of Methane gas/biogas.They mixed the collected waste with water to form a slurry. They keep the mixer in a container called a ‘digester’ where bacterias break down the waste products gas and sludge.
Another method adopted by some people is the use of landfill garbage dumps where the garbage is covered with earth. This keeps oxygen away from the garbage. The combination of water and anaerobic bacterial produces methane gas which can be collected from the dump and used.

6 Tips To Become A Great Adult Learner (Despite Work And Family Tasks)
One of the biggest obstacles to learning for adults is represented by daily commitments, work, and family tasks. It’s useful to tell you that adults have way less time to spend on learning and this is the main reason why parents want their kids to study and build a good education during their childhood and teenage. Once kids become adults, they will miss such an opportunity and time is never the best friend when it comes to adult learning.
Adult Learners Vs Younger Learners
Although most adults tend to give up upgrading their education level, it’s scientifically proven that adults can learn even faster than kids. That’s because adults have a mature brain, which is completely developed in every part, like memory.
A completely mature and developed brain is the most precious resource that all learners can hope to use to learn faster and better. Don’t you believe? Probably, it’s because you think that all adults have millions of things to keep in mind every day, they indeed have to take care of work tasks, family duties, and appointments and so on. But we want to prove that adults have a real extra kick that kids don’t have, at least as far as they still are kids. Let’s take a deck of cards and a few written rules. Then, let’s take a kid and an adult. Both of them are first-time learners of poker (or blackjack, if you prefer). Finally, let’s take a clock and establish a deadline, half an hour might be enough. What do you want to bet that the adult learner will be able to learn the poker rules and to apply those rules correctly during a poker game better than the younger learner?
It’s what happens in the real world – adults can count on an excellent brain and oftentimes they don’t even know this! But when you give them the chance to take part in a poker game, either online or with a friend, they will amaze everyone! Here’s how we can explain the successful gambling activity of certain adults on 7alalcasino.com which is one of the world’s largest casino references of our time.
Too Busy To Learn? Get These Hacks!
So, now you agree that adult learners have a great ally that younger learners don’t have (not yet). If you want to learn something new or you want to get back to university and complete your education or even upgrade it, take our list of hacks to succeed:
Not only textbooks
Education isn’t made of just textbooks. Integrate your knowledge by taking notes from your teachers’ lectures and thorough research on the web. Today you have plenty of opportunities to expand your knowledge on almost all subjects.
A little study every day
Consistency is key to success for students. Schedule a weekly study plan and make sure to study a little every day, so your brain will keep well trained and you will improve your cognitive skills day after day.
Study ahead of classes
If you have the opportunity to attend university classes, don’t hesitate to show up and follow your teachers’ lectures. It’s a good idea to attend classes prepared about the subject as it will make things easier and you won’t have any problems to understand new topics.
Assignments
University assignments might look way too heavy, but the secret is not to set them aside. When you get an assignment, start doing your researches or exercises straight away and if you can’t complete it all in a day, schedule a multiple-day study plan.
Strategic methods
Memory skills are fundamental, no matter what subject you have to study. But sometimes even memory might need some extra help, especially if the day of your exam gets closer and you have a real ton of things to remember for it.
Use mnemonic techniques and other memory strategies to make sure to remember key elements and information. On the web, you can find an extensive range of mnemonic strategies for students.
Take always notes
The old-fashioned method of handwriting everything that you need to remember is always the best tip for every student! So, take your notes and summarize them after classes, highlight important points and underline what matters when reading books.
And, most important, prepare a speech about the topic that you’ve just studied. Repeat your speech over and over to make sure that you can remember all the main points.
Finally, it’s essential that you deeply love what you are studying – as long as you feel involved and attracted by your study topics, your brain will work more easily and faster than you can think.
Health Benefits Of Sobolo
Hibiscus Tea, popularly referred to as Sobolo, has been used in modern culture as a mild yet natural diuretic.
Dieters and people with kidney problems often turn to the natural and beneficial properties of the hibiscus flower, because of the Vitamin C and minerals, and as a diuretic.
Recently, studies have shown that the anti-oxidants within the hibiscus flower have proven to decrease cholesterol levels and the risk of heart disease.
In a 2008 USDA study shows consuming hibiscus tea lowers blood pressure in a group of pre-hypertensive and mildly hypertensive adults.
Three cups of tea daily resulted in an average drop of 8.1 points in their systolic blood pressure, compared to a 1.3 point drop in the volunteers who drank the placebo beverage.
6 Things That Make You Become A Perfect Student
Being a student today means you spend a lot of time on the computer. Assignments are submitted digitally and various online platforms and digital tools designed for virtual meetings are used on a daily basis. The digital educational system represents the opportunity to keep up with student work and go ahead with higher education regardless of where one lives. It’s harder but works!
It’s Great To Have The Internet!
Through the use of digital tools, we’ve all discovered how helpful the internet is when we can’t meet in person. We already knew that the web is a powerful means of communication, but probably we didn’t have a pre3cise clue of “how much” it can help.
Online school lessons, online purchases of goods, online recruitment of professionals to hire… everything seems to happen online these days. And it’s great luck for everyone out there. Think about having an emergency while on the road… that’s something terrific! You are miles away from your home and you don’t know where to call for help. You are simply there, let’s say looking for a lost car key. Then, you realize you left it inside the car, so you can’t unlock it anyway.
According to the American automotive locksmiths, car lockouts are among the most common car emergencies all across the States. Think that the numbers reveal over 16,000 home and car lockouts per day in the US. Having the keys locked in the car isn’t a rare emergency, this is the bottom line. And the great news is that you can call professional car locksmiths at any time, no matter where you are. Just look for 247 Locksmiths Near Me and get in touch via mobile. It’s easy, quick, and more affordable than you may think.
What Should You Do To Be A Great Student?
Students might feel that e-learning is frustrating and they are right – it’s sad not to be able to shake hands with your teacher or school/university mates. But even through online lessons you can work to improve yourself and become a better student, let’s say the ideal students whom all teachers on earth would love to have in their class! Take our tips and make confident with virtual meeting platforms and other online tools for students (see what your school board offer you as a student):
-
Ask for questions
Students who care about learning and understanding what they have to learn always ask for questions. Either you haven’t understood a concept or you want to learn more about it, don’t hesitate to ask for a question. Teachers appreciate students who aren’t afraid of asking questions. Besides, it’s beneficial to you as well as to your classmates. -
Don’t be afraid of hard work
Self-discipline is the most important characteristic to become a perfect student. No matter how skilled or smart you are, you may even not be the smartest student, but if you are self-disciplined you will work hard and achieve your best outcomes. Schedule your homework for school and make sure you are on time with completing every assignment. -
Be involved
If your school or university organizes extra-curricular activities, pick your favorite one, and get involved. Such activities are usually meant to help students gain confidence and feel at ease with the school/university environment, including the people who are there. Sports teams, theater courses, and more are perfect to get extra learning opportunities while having fun. -
Motivation
It’s almost useless to tell you that a great student is first and foremost a motivated student. However, it’s not always so easy to find the right amount of motivation, especially with subjects that you may not like that much. Convince yourself that even the most boring subject is there for a reason and comes to complete your education for your sake. -
Problem-solving
Straight-A students look for a solution when there’s a problem. No matter if it’s an everyday problem or if it’s homework trouble. They know there’s a solution and they use all of their strength to find it out. Even asking for help is a great way to find the right solution to every problem. So, don’t hesitate to ask for help when you don’t know how to fix the situation yourself. -
Maximize your learning potential
Not all students can or want to take full advantage of their learning potential. Sometimes, they are influenced by their parents’ opinions about education. If you feel you want to continue your studies, talk to your parents, and let them see value in your education goals. Put your effort into taking a seasonal job during the summer to save for school fees.
Keep in mind that nobody is a natural-born perfect student. We all are here to learn! Education is a commitment for life. It may cost you a lot, but it will repay you with abundant outcomes in the future.
4 Ways To Pick The Best School Subjects For Your Future Care
School is where you prepare yourself to face the world fo adults one day. It’s a unique place where you can make experiences that will give you important knowledge to learn how to behave in certain life situations. A well-known saying goes like ” school is a real-life practice gym”. There’s no better way to describe the role of the school as to future life.
Different Ways To Take Classes
With this said, we want to focus on the importance of school and education in general, no matter what specific path you are going to choose. In this regard, we must tell you that it’s honestly very difficult for a young student to be able to pick the perfect school subjects.
Many students often want to follow their friends’ choices without giving too much attention to their specific skills, which can be obviously different than their friends’ skills. Other students would like to take all the available classes, so picking a number of them sounds complicated. Finally, some students don’t like studying that much, so they end up picking classes just randomly. And there is also a large share of students who are suggested to pick classes by their parents but after some time realize some of those classes weren’t a great choice. As you can see, many ways lead a student to choose school subjects and the common aspect is that most students don’t have a precise idea of what they want to take as school subjects.
Choose What Makes You Happy!
It might sound a little weird but as a high-school student, you should try to pick those subjects that make you happy. What do you love to study most of all? That’s the idea.
If you are crazy about design and you dream about becoming a skilled graphic designer for the cartoon industry or gaming industry, you should focus on this skill of yours and make everything to allow yourself to improve and refine your talent. Today’s gaming industry needs new skilled graphic designers to pack new games with a state-of-the-art attractive design. These top india casinos, for example, offer some of the most amazing online games of our times along with stunning sound effects and realistic graphics that make the gamblers feel “inside” the game they’re playing. As a result, playing one of these casino games is a unique experience.
Similarly, if you love reading classic books and novels, you should take classes for literature as it will allow you to learn and discover more about writing techniques and the evolution of the history of literature.
Here’s A Bunch Of Tips To Help You Out
We know that choosing the right high-school subject isn’t an easy job for anyone. By following our tips below, you can easily get to a clue of what subjects are the right ones for your skills. Take note and get ready to make your best choice:
-
School information
Most schools organize information events for students and parents. Don’t hesitate to join such events and, once there, ask for as many questions as you have. This will help you get a clue about the process of choosing school subjects. -
Review your previous choices
Look back at what subjects you’ve been taking in the past years. What benefits for your education do you think those subjects gave you? If you could get back to the past, would you choose them again or would you make a different choice? Consider and review your past choices to learn to make better choices in the future. -
Subjects for careers
High-school students are usually too young to understand what they want to do as a career. They’re young, full of dreams, and barely can plan their future starting from their teenage years. So, you should try to choose subjects that are relevant to the largest number of careers as possible. Such subjects include science, technology, engineering, maths, English, and foreign language. Whatever university path you will pick after the high-school, you already have a good-level knowledge of those ever-important subjects. -
Be on time with your choice
Take your time to get to your best choice but make sure you come up with a clear idea of what subjects you want to take on time. Usually, students must submit their choice of school subjects within term 3. After that, the school might decide to place your choices in their second or third subject choices.
Besides, you may start interviewing senior students whom you know about their choices of school subjects, how much they feel satisfied with them, and what pieces of advice they can give you.
